Manchester tower block applies for alcohol vending machine
9th October 2023
A recent article in the Manchester Evening News has revealed that the owners of T1 Tower in Manchester, a co-living space with 871 rooms, have been granted permission to install a vending machine selling alcohol.
The application proved slightly controversial, with the public health team objecting, but was passed nonetheless - with the committee adding a Challenge 25 policy condition to help ensure users are of legal age.
It's possible that cities and towns will see more applications and objections like these in the future, as vending machines continue to become more ubiquitous and sell a wider range of goods such as alcohol.
